The heavy duty barrel spring provides the correct pressure for the nippers to be used on hard or thickened nails.  Always cut small pieces of nail at a time using the tips of the blades and file after cutting using a GF3 glass nail file or PL8 Prolyne foot dresser. After use the handles should be pushed together and secured with the retaining clip. May be sterilised if required.
